An Extented Study of the Evaluation of the Spinal Cord Damaged


Abstract
Previously an evaluation of the disabled due to spinal cord damage in Korea was done by author in 1980. This extended study consisted with GU status, Spasticity, Pain, Sexual function and Stool care in different levels and different durations with 17 tables which were made by a microcomputer. There were remarkable differences in the different levels and different durations as following:
1) Rate of self-control of urine was higher in patients with lower cord lesion than patients with higher cord lesion and the duration did not affect significantely.
2) Rate of spasticity was higher in patients with higher cord lesion than in patients with lower cord lesion and slightely high in the longer durationed than the shorter durationed.
3) Degree of the pain was higher in the patients with lower cord lesion than in the higher cord lesion and in the longer durationed than in the shorter durationed.
4) Rate of sexual possibility was higher in patients with higher cord lesion than in patients with lower cord lesion and the longer durationed than the shorter durationed.
5) Rate of feeling stool was higher in patients with higher cord lesion than in patients with lower cord lesion and the longer durationed than the shorter durationed.
6) Rate of dependency of stool care was higher in patients with higher cord lesion than in patients with lower cord lesion and the longer durationed than the shorter durationed.
